Okay, so my buddy and I are trying to set up server's in Blood 2 and Shogo. So, when he goes to set up his server, I can see it and join it. He uses port 10666.

However, when I set up my server, he claims to not see it. I've tried using 10666 and 37915 for my port number.

This whole process is kind of confusing, can somebody tell me why he can't see mine and how I can fix it? I must be doing something wrong...

Have you checked your firewall to make sure your allowing those ports through?

Actually, I tried turning it off all together. Still didn't seem to work.
Easiest thing to do might be to just run a program like hamachi which will create a online lan between you and your friends computer.

Yep thats it just grab a home user style account which is free and have your friend do the same. Then you just set it up, create a group on it have your friend join it and it should simulate a lan so you can play.
