lukaszthegreat: its nothing to do with her acting ability or stuff like that.

i find her to be a bad omen when it comes to tvseries. Knew immediately when cape was announced that it will be cancelled 10 episodes in just because she was there.

she might guest star but I don't trust her in a main/recurring role
Yeah the Summer Glau curse... but even if a series got cancelled prematurely she made it all the more awesome and worthwhile to be honest. Yeah I really like her... :'(

In the case of Firefly or TSCC though, FOX is the one fully responsible for their short lifetimes. FOX decision on which episode to air as pilot for Firefly was a disaster, and then showing the other episodes in disorder didn't help either. The 2 shows got quite a following an acclaim in europe... ah well. Leaves me bitter, those got me to watch TV again. It's hard to find something worthwhile now hiding in the crap.
Whedon sucks.

JudasIscariot: Speaking of plays, I would love to see "The Importance Of Being Earnest" by Oscar Wilde with a proper and tasteful adaptation.
I try hard to appreciate these old pieces, but each time I watch or read them, I get the impression that the characters are being overly verbose to give the impression that they are more clever than they really are.

It feels that if they didn't try so hard to sound clever, they might actually become more clever by analyzing the essence of their argumentation (or lack of thereof) and realizing how full of crap they are.

Silly nonsense spoken in a fancy way is still silly nonsense.

Then again, that is probably the whole point (at least for Oscar Wilde), but each time I watch it, I just feel like hammering (literally) some sense into these people.
