mrgscottc: This is great news. The only thing that I don't like is that the power has been turned over to the military. I'll be watching to see how the military, who are defenders of the state and generally serve the government institution - whatever that may be - can possibly transition to democratic state.
Something to keep in mind is that Egypt has mandatory military service, so nearly every household in Egypt has someone either currently or formerly in the military. To put it another way, Egypt's military didn't simply support the people during the protests, but rather it can be said that the military is the people. Given this, I'm cautiously optimistic that the military will actually transition the country to whatever system of government the people happen to desire.
Congratulations to the Egyptian fellows, right now I'm envious of the dignity these people have showed off while in my country I have to deal - every fucking day - with Silvio Berlusconi's media dictatorship and the dumbness of my fellow Italians....
