I know at least a few fellow GoGlodytes are looking forward to this release so I wanted to post the Dev Diary #7, which has some interesting news about factions in the new game and how they'll be changing and becoming more organic while still retaining the sandbox feel, at least that's the impression given.

Sounds like this game is going to be amazing. I hope it doesn't have high system requirements like Warband. Thanks for sharing, Sir Greymane.

Thanks for the update. I'm very much looking forward to this game and really hope it comes here.
Wonderful! Day 1 buy. When's it coming again?
So when is it coming to GOG?
What engine are they using?

They are using their own :)

I believe they built it from scratch again. Which is why bannerlord is taking so long.
Wow, super excited. And being an RTS, medieval, and AoE2 fan, it seems very promising. And its a PC exclusive.

I wonder what their engine is called. Seems to have good netcode if the previous M&B is taken into account.

I don't know the name of the engine Warband (and the other Mount & Blade games) uses but another developer named Snowbird Games is making a game called Caribbean! using a version of that engine. I hope that engine catches on, it has decent physics and graphics, it can handle a large amount of onscreen NPCs (with varying levels of AI) with no problem and is stable overall.

On topic: Assuming my PC can handle it, I'll definitely be buying Bannerlord, it already has a solid foundation in Warband, looks great and it seems like Talewords is actually listening to player feedback.
Will freelancer mode be put into the game once it launches or we'll need to wait for mods?
Tasty!
I still have to play the original Warband (once i get it on a sale). This and Carribean are looking quite good.

I haven't been that impressed with anything I've seen of Carribean so far, especially given that there are many FREE mods which give the same types of experiences. Oh and things like this:

They promised a big July update...that got pushed to August.. Then promised a huge August update...that is now being released in the second week of September, because"unfortunately, the vacations of our team's members have taken its toll."

This is exactly why I rarely buy early access games, especially ones put out by a studio that already released a fairly shoddy mod-disguised-as-expansion With Fire and Sword. Now, I love Taleworlds' main product line and have devoted far too many hours of my life to Warband but so far I am dubious of this partnership. I hope to be proven wrong.

That's one of the reasons I like them so much; much like Paradox and how Bioware used to be (referring mostly to the period surrounding release and shortly thereafter of NWN 1 especially) they really do take in what their fanbase has to say. Also like those companies they have hired from within the forum community.

This won't come to GOG. They wouldn't even respond on bringing the past games to GOG. They will use either Steam exclusive, or have it downloadable from their own site with the archaic 'online activation' system as well. Kind of a shame and missed opportunity on their part.

Correct me if I'm wrong.
Steppe tribe is there, yay! Nothing like riding around an enemy and picking them off one by one. :) though, the learning curve to do so was steep and frustrating... much like cattle rustling. boo.

sounds like we get to be the puppet master of events if we so choose. that could be fun.
