Hi there :)

Hope here are some kind people who can help me...

I got Morrowind today from Steam, lost my cd years ago -.-, and played about 3 hours. I saw that all quests are marked as "Open" in the journal. I tought that was fixed with bloodmoon? I loaded this fix: http://www.ubi.com/DE/Downloads/Info.aspx?dlId=409 ...and its working now.

Anyone else with this problem?
Wouldn't know, I don't own in but glad it was fixed for you
Not sure about your issue, but:

You might be a veteran Morrowind player or otherwise already know about this, but just-in-case: You might want to use at least the save game corruption fix of Morrowind Code Patch (available here or here) to save yourself some grief.

I didn't have any kind of problem. I applied the most famous "patch mods" (the Code Patch and another one I don't remember) before even trying to play, though.

I'd guess it was: Unofficial Morrowind Patch (here or here)

Iirc, tho, it doesn't address the issue he's having.

The UMP is now the Morrowind Patch Project

Read about that a while back, but it slipped my mind. It can be an issue of preference. For example, G3's patch for BG2 put me off a bit because of the massive amount of undocumented (sometimes untested) changes it made to the game, so I stick with the older Baldurdash patches that fix the things that clearly need fixed and list exactly what changes are made to the game. (To be fair, I haven't checked up on the G3 patch in several years; it might be a bit cleaner nowadays). I trust the Unofficial Morrowind Patch. The MPP is a different set of modders, and I haven't investigated it to the point where I'd be comfortable installing it (not sure if it's well-documented, for example).

I dont want gfx changes.

Edit: Got Better Bodies and Morrowind Code Patch + FPS Optimizer (Widescreen support) <3

Why i need the "Tribunal Journal fix"...still unclear -.-#

I have no idea why you need the journal fix despite having the GOTY edition. However:

For widescreen suppport, Morrowind Graphics Extender (MGE) will allow you to play the game at any resolution you prefer. It also enables you to (with a small amount of effort) create Oblivion-style distant land graphics for the base game and all installed mods. The difference distant land makes is mind-blowing. You can see distant landmarks and buildings, find a lofty perch and scan the surrounding terrain, gaze across the island. It does utilize more system resources tho.

I use the last version that timeslip created iirc, but liztail (the modder that adopted and continues to develop MGE) is a skilled modder who's done amazing things for the beast races, so I suspect that his newer version would be fine, too. I'll probably update the next time that I play.

Agreed. I am always amazed by the sight of the dwemer ruins above Balmora. It's as if the game was designed with distand land in mind.
