My first alarm is given by the Galaxy Tab, 15 minutes later the TV switches on with the news channel, adding light and noise to scene. No chance to keep sleeping. :)

Vagabond: Internal clock. I generally always wake up at the same time.
Me too, and I can usually 'program it' to wake me up earlier if I have stuff to do (like Kramer!). If that fails (which it does about half the time), I have my alarm clock on the other side of the room so there's no way I can turn off that annoyingly loud beeping without having to get up.

Sure, I can set several times a day when to switch on or to record a program. If you ask if my Tab and TV are connected on the other hand, not that isn't the case. Both act separately, shame that high tech isn't that far. :P

hedwards: I use one of these. http://whatiszeo3.myzeo.com/hp/3/whatiszeo.php Doesn't give me any guarantee as to when exactly I wake up, but I do fight less with the alarm clock when I wake up at an advantageous stage of sleep. Plus the ability to choose how long the sleep button works for and the fact that it requires two button presses to activate it really helps.

TheCheese33: That sure is involved and expensive! It does look pretty cool, though.
Eh, it's for more than just waking up, it's a way to learn to fix ones sleep. For those who've had serious problems with sleep it's well worth the money.

AndrewC: Mobile phone alarm at around 6-6:30 during weekdays but I'm usually awake before it starts ringing; if I had a tough day before or I feel like I'd have trouble sleeping then it's compensated with another series of alarms for 30 minutes each 5 minute apart.
same system here. I use my phone as an alarmclock, and now i have certain songs etched into my subconsciousness so that whenever i hear them i feel a sudden urge to jump up.
But i've only used the series of alarms when i've gotten drunk and had work in the morning(it sounds worse than it is). My phone is full of appointments that say WORK! set at random intervals from 8 to 9 o'clock :p
I have these ninjas that spring out of everywhere and pummel my testicles and put ice cubes on my stomach until I run this obstacle course that is like Ninja Warrior on G4. If I fall in the water I have to start over again, then an 80's contraption that fixes my breakfast like in Back To The Future goes awry, and I have to fight to set it right. I do this every morning.

Or my Circadian clock is awesome and always wakes me up 20 minutes before I have to get up so I have time to ease into the realm of consciousness. This takes years of training but is worth it, and another bonus is that I always know what time it is give or take 5 minutes.
I purposefully set my cell phone just out of arms reach from my bed so that when it rings I actually have to get out of the bed to turn the damn thing off.

yeah, I did this for too, but after a while it didn't work anymore for me, I'd just sleep all the way through it.
On weekdays my wife wakes me up at 05:30 (I have to take my 2 kids to infant nursery and kindergarden). On weekends my son wakes me at 06:00 to ask why we are not going to kindergarden... Both "alarm clocks" are 100% efficient - no way do sleep longer :-(
