(excuse my english, it's not very accurate)

Do you think we gonna see more racing games in GoG in a near future? Is there some interest for those classics?

I mean, i think that is the "forgotten" genre here. I love SS2, Blade, Omikron...adquisitions, but i really hope to see one day in GoG titles like:

-Grand Prix Legends
-GP3/4
-Rally Trohy
-Colin Mcrae 1,2,3 and 4
-Toca Race Driver 2
-Mobil 1 RC
-Pro Rally 200
...
I really don't think we're going to have time for more racing games in the future what with how busy we'll all be colonizing Mars, working nine hour shifts at the Cloning Factory, and keeping the evil Zylon Empire from taking over our Tinzinial mines on planet HJ-7.

EDIT
Oh wait, you meant the NEAR future. Sorry. My bad. :(

doubt it gog has said it before they are not interested in sim games or racing ..........
Yeah, trouble is, if you check out the racing games that ARE here, the Screamer games for example, they all have fictionalised cars because, turns out that real world Car brands (including, for instance, Ferrari in F1) are subject to the same licensing clusterfuck bullshit that keep games based on films (Blade Runner, for example) away from us
Its very sad and annoying!
I think Codemasters did put some Colin MacRea game on here once and it had to be pulled - may have even had to be taken off people's shelves, not just the storefront, IIRC!
And don't get me started on how the eventual DVD release of 'Daria' had to replace all the cool 90s music with more recent stuff no-one has ever heard of!
Grinds my actual gears!
The problem is that most of the good racing games are tied to third party licenses, which makes it very difficult (legally) to re-release them.

The games were TOCA 3 and Colin McRae Rally 2005, and in the end they were not removed from the shelves of those who bought them before they were removed from sale (I think it was in late 2009). I myself have CMR2005 and can still download it today.

Was there talk of them possibly having to be removed though? Glad to hear you still have you game on your shelf after you paid for it and all!

For a while, yes, there was talk of them being removed from users' shelves. GOG sent out emails to owners of the two games telling them to download them and make backups as they had been ordered by Codemasters to remove them from sale and from their servers too, but they did give this advance warning and I think there were at least a few weeks to download them before the due date for their removal.

However, in that interim time GOG were still in contact with Codemasters to work a few things out and they did manage to retain the games on their servers for those users who had already purchased the games. I don't remember getting any notification that they had managed to agree this, but the games just didn't disappear and are still able to be downloaded even now. Hooray for those GOG staff involved. :)
