How many years have to pass to class a game as 'old'?

No one really knows, but the basic rule is, if a game is old enough to no longer be on store shelves or can only be found in the "10 bucks or less" discount bin, then it is old enough to be on GOG.
Would be really interesting to hear from the GOG-staff, about the publisher's attitude towards releasing games DRM-free. If it proved to be make revenue, they'd probably be up for it!
You can find statements about publisher's attitudes towards DRM, especially in relation to new games, all over the internet. You really don't need the GOG guys to come here and tell you they want DRM on all their new games, due to the mistaken impression that it prevents (at the very least) "day one" piracy.

If the GOG team can convince the rights holder to release a game DRM-free for $10 or less, it's old enough. I believe that's their official stance.

So the likes of FO3 could be on here within the year following that rule... I wouldn't mind... :P

It doesn't have to be brand spanking new but if they put up games that were like 3-4 years old, it would be frickin' wicked.

I mean, Crysis was released in 2007 for fecks sake and most games released in 2008-2009 goes for about 10 $ today. With the prices of aging titles sinking that fast, it might not be that impossible to convince'em to put em up on gog.com

cogadh: I think the DRM free aspect attracted attracted a lot of us to the site originally, but after that, it became all about the games themselves and the DRM free part was just incidental.
I probably won't be affected the same way, using Linux means some of the games here don't work for me, so it'll always be to support the DRM freeness! :D
