Anyone remember this game? http://www.mobygames.com/game/mobil-1-british-rally-championship

Apparently it works well on my Vista 64, but the menu graphics are all messed up (the 3D rotating icons are leaving a trail behind and looks all psychadelic). I can start and play a race, and graphics seems fine otherwise, it's just the damn menu graphics.

Anyone have any idea of where I can get a fix or a patch for this? I'd also like to know if there's a way of making it run on widescreen resolutions, preferrably 1920*1080.

Hi,

In case you have not found out yourself you can solve the problem of the messed up menu graphics by disabling anti-aliasing in your graphics driver properties menu (worked for me on an Nvidia GTX 570)

You also have to set this game to single processor affinity, otherwise you will get sound synching problems.
Widescreen is not possible in this game, at least not without stretching.

Wow, two and half years later I get a reply :p. Thanks, wen I decide to pick up the game again, I wll try and remember your advices. That said, I hope the game comes to GOG someday, since it's a really good game.

the game works beautifully on current machines (in my case an i7 3770 under Windows 8 Pro): set compatibility mode to Win98, disable fullscreen anti-aliasing in the menu stuff of your graphics drivers (when using modern Nvidia cards - in my case a 570 GTX), after starting the programme, while still in the menu, launch the task manager, set priority for RAL.EXE (details section in the task manager - at least under Win8) to low and the number of CPU cores to use to 1 (no more sound glitches) - now even the tricky Ulster levels work happily (on faster computers they are notorious for crashing if one has the impertinence of driving over mud)

otherwise I can only agree - it still is a lovely game (you can still get via Amazon UK for example)
