Do you think, possibly, that a bad economy and epic unemployment levels might have influenced Obama to lower the requirements for welfare? Is that possible? Because it sure fucking makes a lot of sense to me Romney, and by acting like only the strong should survive you make this independent voter run to the other side you uncaring corporate prick.

I cited two things, PG&E dumping and poisoning the entire town of Hinckley, causing birth defects and death and currently the cancer epidemic in the areas of Canada exploiting the tar sands. I suspect you have very little idea how much business tries to externalize costs by making the tax payers clean up their waste. You should actually be against that. It happens, a lot, even in the US. Unlined slurry pits for coal mines are an extremely good example, you can take the data from any coal mining towns in the US with one of these pits, they track cancer rates, they are way above the national average.

It's useless to cite things when you merely ignore them, how many examples do you want? The shit companies can dump and the compounds we have now can poison an entire region for a generation or more. They don't have to "get away with it for very long", getting away with it for a few months will fuck the area for decades, end of story.

Would you rather pay for prevention (i.e. oversight) or cleanup? Because I know which one is cheaper, and if you think a bankrupted company going to clean their shit up I invite you to read up on the toxic sites GM was allowed to abandon during their re-organization. They're still in business and those sites are blighted, cannot be used for anything because the cost of cleanup is far more than any business would ever pay to utilize the land. It's now a public burden.
