Okay so I didn't find anything on this game searching.

I'm playing it on XBox 360 (was half off a couple weeks ago), it's basically HoMM with puzzle mechanics for battles (think something like Puzzle Quest but more engaging since it's with units). I know it came up in the Extra Creditz Games You May Have Missed Part 2, but I wanted to call it out, it kicks ass. Last night was the first time in a long time that I kept thinking "just one more battle"... until it was 3am:)
It is dreadful.
I'm definitely getting that game as soon as it's on sale! So broke. ಥ_ಥ

I had a chance to get it on DS once, but I picked up the Miles Edgeworth game instead. I'm sure I can get it way cheaper for the PC, anyway. I love my DS, but the titles are vicious on the wallet. Steam will probably have it discounted over the winter sale. I hope.

I had some fun with this game, but I found it wasn't as fun after the first time through the game.
Great game, surprised it hasn't gotten more attention.

Looks like Steam has the only demo - Is it anything like the DS Game?

I cannot say for sure about the DS, but XBox Live has a playable demo, if Steam does as well, try it. You get a fair taste of the mechanics but you don't have any whacky artifacts that completely change how you play. For example, right now my artifact lets me call reinforcements without using an action, this greatly alters how you play the board as you are free to call in only 3 reinforcements if you want (which normally would be a huge waste of an action).

Ran the intro from the demo and it sure seems like the DS Game for the big screen - Thanks.

Yes, the other versions are HD ports of the DS game.
I've played the DS version and I agree, it's one of those hidden gems.
I've the DS version and I can't stand it anymore. It was fun for some 3 hours, but it quickly became a chore, and I started disliking it to the extent that I can't bring myself to finish it (or even try it again). The battles felt too luck based (which annoys me), and the plot just didn't do anything for me.
Played the DS version for some time and I don't like it very much, for me it's a "game of chance" with some minor strategic element thrown in. (I am tempted to say that Puzzle Quest was much more strategic and interesting to play than this one)

It's not really a problem in earlier battle but in more complex/ harder one later it start being very annoying and frustrating, the battles can be either very easy on nearly impossibly hard depending of the random placement of your troops, especially the powerful units. (And let's not talk about the "let's hit a randomly moving enemy/target while avoiding to hit another randomly moving allies/target" battle that nearly had me throwing my DS through the window )

If it was more strategy oriented and less pure random luck it could have been enjoyable.

played the demo , the first few minutes were fun , limited space, no exploration and different battle system but after that the joy died and i forgot about it
Yeah, I played the demo on XBLA about a week ago. I mean, at first I thought it was pretty decent, then it did start to feel like a completely "luck of the draw" game in some of the stages. Maybe Ubisoft just sucks at MaM.
I like very much that game, got it for my DS, got countless hours of fun with it. And the "manga" design didn't shock me a bit, even if i'm a huge fan of the M&M universe (I have all the games).

So, as soon as it is part of a sale on Steam, I'll grab it, playing it on a large screen should be awesome.
