Yes, this was the worst kept secret in the world. We've already heard developers talking about it, pictures of a dev prototype have appeared on several sites, analysts have been predicting it for at least two years, but up until now, no one from Microsoft has openly admitted that a new console was really in the works. For some reason, that makes this guy's slip of the tongue newsworthy.

This has been a public secret for a very long time now. Rumours suggest that the console will be based on WindowsNT 6.2, Windows 8's kernel. Hopefully, that is true, it would be quite a nice thing for developers.

One things for certain. It'll be a tremendous flop here. So MS may as well not bother.
