hedwards: I didn't realize that it had a new age. I guess I'll install it and make that my next game. I've got such a backlog that a game like this that can be completed needs to be before the games like RTSes which can be played ad infinitum.
It's a nifty bonus, but realMyst has the same quality URU has - it's great for relaxation (dem sunsets, man).
When I bought all of the Myst games available here on sale a couple of months ago it was more just to have a look because they're such a massive piece of game history than any concerns about playing the games and enjoying them as games. If I'd bought them wanting to sit down and play a game, particularly a point and click in the mode of, say Broken Sword, I might have been a wee bit hacked off. As it is I was fascinated by the design and the way they were built. But definitely I viewed them as exhibits rather than full on games.
Lost Welshman: Lost for years in the mist. Oh how I hate that blasted mist.
Guybrush: Really? I like mist. I think it's pretty.
Lost Welshman: Well SURE, mist is pretty! But EGAD is it dull.
