Foxhack: Are you kidding? Mass Effect 1 is such a broken port that I doubt GOG would even want to sell it here. >:|
Never had the issues you seemed to have had. Compared to a lot of games it was a brilliant port with a lot of PC changes and enhancements.

Love the game, love the PC version.

Exactly what I'm sayin'.

And I'm also saying that because they made it for consoles, they had to dumb it down. Seriously Foxhack, I know you know what I mean, don't be passive aggresive just because you disagree with me, it makes you look like a fool.

I will second that I had no issues with Mass Effect on PC. Because it really was made for consoles, however, I do wish that Bioware had bothered to offer some sort of gamepad support. I didn't particularly like using WASD to move around in that game. This is a subjective complaint, though. As far as working correctly, I had no issues with the port at all.
I have had some minor problems with Mass Effect 1 on PC, mostly sounds cutting out and some textures but a quick search online showed some files you could edit to force the game to use the higher end textures and turning off V-sync actually fixed the sound issue and some frame rate problems.

Because GOG doesn't have a single bad working game in their catalogue?
Mass Effect 1 would be a great addition to GOG catalogue. Of course, it runs slower than ME2 or 3, but I've never had bigger problems with it.

Maybe EA doesn't want to sell that particular game DRM Free, and this is the reason it's not here yet.

But I hope it's not the reason, and it's scheduled by GOG to be released, maybe on Fall conference? ;-)

It would be a tech support nightmare. And you know how quick they are with tech support. :P

I think the potential sales would offset that. GOG wasn't that squeamish when they released DK II, why would they be with ME 1. And for me ME always worked without a hitch, generally from what I've read it looks like a very solid port. Your post was literally the first time I herd anybody complaining about it.

ME 1 on GOG might just be a possibility, as it is (AFAIK) not on Origin.
ME1 is, of course, sold on Origin. But it's also on Steam, so it's not like they want to keep it as exclusive. (at least on Polish Origin it is, 10 EUR's the price)
I just wish for some version of ME2 (and eventually 3) with all DLCs bundled, because right now they're way too expensive. Most go for 800 bioware points, or $10 each, while ME1 and 2 have been on sale for $5 each. I don't care if I need Origin for that.

I kind of regret buying Dragon Age 2 for this very reason (though it did come bundled for very cheap with the ultimate edition of the first game).

Yeah, me too, but it's not likely to happen. Maybe ME2 and DA2 DLCs are selling well enough not to have to milk them with bundles.

Nah.. I can't find reasonable explanation. Releasing GOTY editions usually give huge sales peek and makes the game almost like "new" product.

I would gladly buy ME2 GOTY and DA2 GOTY for a reasonable price, than having to pay 50 bucks for DLCs
