lukaszthegreat: oh. game works surprisingly flawlessly on med. settings with high quality shadows res 1680

specs
SINGLE core AMD 3200
2gb of ram ddr1
Sapphire 4850 512MB
Nice to hear it's so well-optimized even for low-end systems. I am crying for your rig, though. :(
What kind of frames are you getting? Shadows tend to be a performance hog, so you might want to bring those to medium or low, and turn up other settings for a better experience overall.

NEVER!

I'll have everything set to min but shadows at max. Never cared much about graphics but HQ shadows just look so damn awesome and bring in immersion which HQ textures don't.

and game runs smoothly (which for me is over 20fps) but no idea how to check the exact number?

suggestions?

Haha well, that's a matter of preference I guess. I definitely take textures over shadows.

http://fraps.com Lovely and essential program. Generally, aim for at least 30, and at least 60 if possible..not for you obviously. :(

Just bought Shadowbroker, Overlord and Kasumi. Hell are they expensive; 17€...thats 2€ more than the game itself. Hope they are worth their money. But so far I like ME2 really well. Its superior to ME1 in every aspect. I logged about 15h and haven´t done anything except for recruiting Archangel and doing some sidequest.

Shooting is fun and the dialogue and overall presentation are just top notch. ME1 took me exactly 30h with all sidequest included (and the sidequest bored the hell out of me). If the DLCs for ME2 continue to be like the main game then i will have plenty of more enjoyable hours to spend.

lukaszthegreat: atm i just got to the station with the plague. how far i can go into the game before i should check the dlc like overload or shadow broker
I think Kasumi is the one you should download first , i'd say as soon as you start building up your team after Omega. She really is worth having with you early on in the game.

The other one i would recommend - shadowbroker - can wait till you're ready to go to illum ( hiring the assassin + loyalty quest for another team member ) or even later. It's bit too short for my own liking but certainly fits well in the game and offers three very nice levels and tough bosses.

I got overlord too, but It was pretty much deceiving, aside from the finale. It's quite long though.

other dlc don't look very interesting to me

heh. the 60 fps is bullcrap to me. always played at average 30 fps or even lower (with min being 20) and saw no problem. maybe if i played at sixty and then played at 22 then i might see a difference.

for now

game works at min 20fps and average 23 at combat and 30-40 at no combat actions like just walking around.

good enough.

Well the human eye can only see 24fps so 25fps minimum is what most games mags and benchmarkers consider the sweet spot of playability. Anything above 25 just adds to the overall smoothness of the game and acts as a buffer so when the really demanding scenes hit it doesn't affect playability that's why 60fps is the overall target while most console games have to hit 30fps minimum.

CheekyBoinc: My question is...
Mass Effect is running _OK_ with a medium gfx config. Will Mass Effect 2, and eventually 3, work also with that config? (All Games on Steam)

Geforce GT 325M, Intel Core I5, 4GB Ram...Windows 7

If not...i am thinking about getting it for the PS3 :/

Edit: How much will the DLC for ME2 cost? I mean, all the interesting stuff :) And can i pay with paypal?
Heh, actually, ME2 ran better on my rig than ME1 :D
