I am new, just discovered you guys, I bought and downloaded all the King's Quest games, I am having problems with getting the manuals to open. After extracting, I click on the file I want to open, but nothing happens. I have an HP running on Vista with Adobe Acrobate Reader 8 (I think). never had problems opening pdf files before!

I would try re-downloading the file and upgrading your reader to Ten.
I'd say dump that Reader, but it might not solve this specific problem, just a myriad others.

[edit]
Try opening the file manually from that Adobe PoS, or right click on the file, and choose "open with" and then choose that Adobe PoS.

Ty Foxit Reader, it's WAY better than Adobe!. If that fails, then yes, you need to upgrade to Acrobat 10.

I finally got it to work. I checked my task mgr and noticed I had 8 adobe processes running, I guess where I tried to open the files before, I just ended each process and boom, got the manuals. sorry for about that. should have tinkered with it a bit before posting. I agree, need to get rid of acrobat. never liked it, but never really use it either other than instances like this.

Foxit IS brilliant indeed. It's faster and lighter than Adobe's reader ; I heartily recommend it.
