but come on. There probably is no better value in gaming than getting Baldur's Gate, Planescape Torment, Icewind Dale, Temple of Elemental Evil, for under 50 dollars, and drm free. These are classics that are hunted down and talked about 10 years + after their release and here they are on GOG for so cheap. Hardly believable, anyway, thank you GOG, keep up the good work, and if anyone agree's you should reply and keep this post going. there really is no better value in gaming today.......c'mon, no replies...
no hell yea'sss
Is there any older gamers on these forums?......

Sadly, what i've noted toady, is that he plays only the DOS/Windows versions, hence his scoring for older rpgs is a bit dodgy. Ultima IV could be a great example, as the DOS port was one of the lousiest, due to PCs inferior architecture [at that time] compared to the original Apple II version, and even the C64/C128 port.

It's a bit like reviewing older games using an XBOX controller, and giving them a lower score for wonky controls.

It would be so awesome to have a guy/chick to review those games on their original intended platforms.

Even though, a great retrospection of the history of RPG is in making right there on that blog, thanks again for the link!:)
My prime gaming years were ages twelve and thirteen - that was during the release of the NES. Early years as a wee kid I had a some pyramid shaped thing and an Odyssey 2.

Computer years began in the early nineties with a Commodore 64. California Games, Wasteland, Bard's Tale, Zak McKracken and Maniac Mansion were some of the first PC titles that I played.

*ToEE spoiler* (maybe...not quite sure)

Just got done putting in two hours in ToEE just now. Good game, first time playing it. I have Co8 installed. At the begining they're saying that the temple has been destroyed? Is the Co8 patch a sequel or something?
