With the release of the Skyrim system requirements I realized that it is time to upgrade. The mobo I have now has a problem so that needs to be replaced and since I'm going for a quad core I will need DDR3 RAM.

My current specs for reference:
Vista 32 Bit
GTX 460
AMD X2 6000+
2GB DDR2
Micro ATX Mobo

I'm thinking of getting these:
Quad Core
Mobo
RAM

The Quad Core and Mobo are a package deal for $177 and the RAM is $25 so it is looking to be a little over $200. I'm not willing to go much high unless the performance is a huge difference for a small price increase.

I'm looking for a quality product that will last me and since I've never used MSI (always went with ASUS) I figured this would be the best place to ask if these all look good and whatnot.

Should be fine. I also have an Nvidia 460, and have a very similar AMD 945, and I am very happy with that combination. Mobo's, I have a hard time getting excited about. Either it works or it doesn't. I think mine's a Biostar or something, don't even know who they are. Yours has usb 3, so that's good.

I'd recommend 8gb (2x4gb) of ram, however. It's not that much more expensive.

You don't need DDR3 for every quad. I use a Q9550 with DDR2 RAM.

I've been thinking that same processor for a while. But I bought some years ago phenom 1 x4 (well all phenoms are quad).
And that processor is mostly the last of the x4 things what my mobo supports, x6 phenoms are a bit too much (expensive) and ddr3 is propably overhyped. Also when I next time do some upgrading, I'll have to start with mobo also.
But if you get all of those with that price, I would say, go for it.
Whether you need DDR3 depends on the motherboard. The motherboard the OP selected wants DDR3.

Why a single stick of RAM? Motherboards are designed to interleave RAM for better performance when it's installed in pairs. That same RAM in 2x2GB would still cost only $33.

A quick question that came to mind. If i buy from newegg, they send you things in Finland also without too much f*cking with the price with because of euro.. =) Or is that just some american seller?

You know.. Why I am not so suprised.. Not fair. Like life in general.
Gonna give this a day or so before I mark an answer.

If the price is low enough you could always arrange for it to be delivered to a buddy in the US and have them ship it to you. Not optimal but it could work.

I don't have so much money just yet, that's not so cheap even in dollars. And I'm still working with the trustworthy US citizen. =)
Setup looks fine for what you want to spend. Get the 2x2gb sticks though as cjgreen said. If you decide to go for 2x4gb ram you will need to get a 64 bit OS as well.

I actually made an extremely similar upgrade recently. I ended up purchasing these:

Mobo
RAM

The processor I selected was the Phenom II x4 965 so not much difference at all. You've selected solid products so I think you'll be good either way. The Nvidia 460 is huge compared to the micro-atx so it will hang well over the "right" edge. Be sure to look at plenty of pictures of the board to ensure your video card doesn't cover something you'll actually need.

Other than that, I think what you chose will be good. To date, I've had no issues with system stability or performance and am very happy with my purchases. Good luck!
