Hey linux guys,

nice to hear of so many linux ports.
As you surely know nearly every DOSBOX-Game can be played under linux.

Greetings Klaus

And most DRM-Free Windows games can be played using Wine. Your point is?
With a username like kdicks... not sure if serious or trolling.

Sounds like congratulations and a helpful hint to me. If you take a peek at the library you may notice many dosbox games aren't flagged for Linux support yet. New Linux GOGers could easily miss that.

Well, he says his name is Klaus, and Dicks is not an unlikely surname, so...

(You find the weirdest surnames here in Germany sometimes - I once had someone on the phone called "Fick", which is German for "fuck". I thought she was taking the piss out of me, but it turned out she really was called "Fick")

Hopefully all dosbox games get official GOG support eventually. I think it's an issue with confirming that GOG has all the proper rights though.
any more discussions about my name? ;)

That's funny and sad at the same time.

you have to modify the .conf-files to run it with linux.
it's not so complicated but you have to know what to do.

Czech surnames are sometimes nasty too. Honestly, I wonder why their significant other just doesn't say "Hold on, we are going to use my surname or no deal."

It's the same in any language to be honest, although nobody in Germany would really have batted an eyelid at the surname "Dicks" - it's only funny to English speakers.

Works the other way around though - Johnny Depp for example has one of the most unfortunate names for German ears ("Depp" means a moron, twit, idiot, dickhead)

Also, life never prepares you for keeping a straight face when you actually meet someone who really is called "Richard Head".

reminds me of the time when I was talking to a friend from Croatia, when she heard my Surname she started laughing like crazy because my Surname in Croatian, literally means "Ass"

Looking at Google Translate, it probably has an archaic root which actually means "ass", and the root survives in modern Croatian.

Mine means "bitch", #thanksdaddy. (It's in a relatively obscure language, so I get by.)
