Light of Altair, Armada 2526 or Star Ruler, three space strategy games offered at Gamersgate christmas sale. Which one should I get/is the best of the three?

Also is East India Company Collection worth the asked €7.48 price or should I wait? Or is Commander: Conquest of the Americas better choise?

Pro's and Cons of each game?

I just got light of altair and played a few missions. Its more of a sim city with a bit of combat from what I have played. I got star ruler when it released and hated it. Didnt like the UI and lack of options. It has been patched quite a bit after that so maybe you can look around a bit.

Thanks for info. Currently watching Light of Altair lp and it doesn't seem to be quite what I'm looking for it still looks quite interesting. Just wondering how big and long the game is. Micromanaging would assblowde on large empire on that management level.

Anyone else willing to give advice?

I played East India Company @ release, biggest waste of money on a game I can remember since....... Legion Arena, that I bought @ release and still have never even taken the selophane(sp) off

Yes, I read lot about the game (it's finnish made game after all) when it was released and your view of the state of game at release pretty much matches the impression I got then. I'm interested to hear if patches and expansions have improved the game to be worth the relatively low asking price.

Never played light of Altair. Star Ruler is a very nice concept, very ambitious too.But released in a state of relative uncompletion to state it midly. Now I'd advise to wait a bit on this one. There ought to be future patch that will complete the game. Armada 2526 is fine but I someho expected more. So for the moment my favourite in the Genre are Sword of the Stars and Space Empire V.

East India collection. Well look at the price of the French equivalent . 3.74 USD. If you get it at such a price, well, why not. But the game is not really fun and not the least frustrating I have played. Do you want an empire management game or a trading simulation. East India company is something like 20/80 ...

If you plan to spend 7.48, have a look at commander conquest of the americas. It's the second opus and while not perfect vastly superior to its elder brother, acheiving in my view a better balance.
