Hello everyone

I recently discovered a very old game that I loved to play when I was younger called Liberation Day - Fallen Haven II.
However I can't seem to get past the weird color issue and I have tried all different solutions I could find on the internet like killing explorer.exe, leaving the monitor tab open, using ddraw patchers and trying all different compatibility modes...

So I was wondering if someone here might have experience with this issue and knows how to solve it?
I'm using Windows 7 64bit version.

Thank you!

I'm not familiar with this game specifically, but it sounds like the DirectDraw bug that I've experienced on other older games.

Several fixes are listed here.

I've used ddwrapper fix with success after creating a file named "aqrit.cfg" that has only one line that says "ColorFix = 1".

Sorry if I'm just naming things you've already tried, but it's my best advice.

Thanks for your input but I have tried that already as well but the problem remains... :-(
Ok, I have found a solid solution but I can't seem to post links on this forum but I would like to share this with everyone though... What do I need to do to be able to post links?

Be more active. :) Right now your rep is 1 and you get rep by being active on the forum. I don't know what it needs to be in order to post links.

You can always post the links broken up a bit so that the forum doesn't recognize them as links. Glad you found a solution for it.
Do not bring up this game when we can't aquire a good version of it, you jerk. Even though I knew what it was going to be, I couldn't help but get my hopes up and shot down right away.
I suppose it's the usual kill explorer.exe issue?

Why wouldn't you be able to get a good version of this game? I have a direct download link as well, if only I could link it lol.

And the solution I found for the color issue works perfect!

Nope, kill explorer.exe does not do the trick.
I have tried all different solutions I could find but none worked, eventually I found a workaround involving Virtual PC.

links don't work for new users on standard forum posts due to some spam issues a little while ago, they should start working once you hit a rep threshold (around 6, I believe). I think links work fine for everybody in other places, such as reviews or PM.

And yep, I wonder why I couldn't find a place to get a digital copy of the game... oh wait
