Holy crap why isn't this game here on GOG, how did it go to Steam without being picked up by GOG? A spiritual successor type game to Lords of Midnight and it's not here. This is exactly the type of game GOG exists for, and yet we still keep getting indie, hipster "artsy" platformer shovelware every week.

Will definitely buy.
This kinda looks like King of Dragon Pass :D
because... http://www.gog.com/forum/general/games_that_are_unofficially_confirmed_for_release_in_the_future_part_2/post684
What the hell GOG.... A serious turn-based strategy wargame inspired by a classic is rejected while indie hipster shovelware like "Schein", "Among the Sleep" or "Sometimes Always Monsters" gets dumped over our heads like diarrhea.

Has GOG's "curation" standards become nothing but "if it has pretty grafix we'll except, even if the gameplay is shallow, simplistic crap".

After Original Sin issue I start to think that GOG assumes too much instead of asking and hearing the community..

well, they probably were asking and hearing community in this case - only 35 voices? ok, no go! :P

Not an argument as you assume. Not too many of GOG account holders use community forum and even fewer wishlists something .. I don't know how large is GOG userbase , as I don't find any info about it, in Forbes article about GOG - over 1.7 million gamers per month. And let's take Most voted (ever) wishes in Games - Grim Fandango with 44,000 votes.. WTF ? If there would be a link on the mainpage of GOG where they put currently reviewed games and then LoA gets only 35 votes .. Ok, fine It's fair enough that what I say then and for now - meh, only, about all system that lies behind so called community-driven wishlist
Had my eye on Legions for a while. Looks like a really fun game... unfortunately, now that it is out, the reviews are not exactly amazing. Most reviews have panned the game for its slow pace, overwhelming AI difficulty, and limited in-game options. Hopefully, these things will be tweaked to make it a better game down the road.

Come on, games have come here with less votes than that, some have come without even having an entry in the wishlist. Doesn't mean anything.
haha. Well, it is good to see that we can trust gOg and its curatorship to keep... ummm.... something....

(fun thing - my spell checker wanted to change curatorship to dictatorship :))

The good news is that you can get the game DRM free and with Steam key directly from the developer here: https://secure.bmtmicro.com/servlets/Orders.ShoppingCart?CID=5484&PRODUCTID=54840005

If gOg do not want your 30%, I suggest giving it to the developer.

For new games, generally yes, for old games no; Turnipslayerr has said something to that extent, the wishlist is one aspect GOG uses to help gauge how well a certain game might sell.

But back on topic, I assume you saw this small discussion that went on here?

http://www.gog.com/forum/general/games_that_are_unofficially_confirmed_for_release_in_the_future_part_2/post684

I'm inclined to think the $15 price and reasons similar to those mentioned in the first Steam review - "Without the charm of exploring a world full of unique characters, why bother? " - are part of why GOG rejected the game. But I'm not against or for the game personally, so I can't say too much.
