I like boobs. I like this game.

Paradoks: Just let Tomb Raider die already. Crystal Dynamics has more important franchises to work on :P.

Like what, Blood Omen?
I am a huge TR fan.
I will be passing this one up.
It will be the only one I have passed up (although I should have passed up all the CD made ones. Poor console ports at best).

Really? I thought Anniversary was pretty good, though frustrating at the end. I also enjoyed Legend, though I can see how veterans of the franchise may not like the actionification and de-exploration changes.
Legend was a great experience with an incredibly beautiful PC port; Underworld is even more visually impressive, although I have only played the demo so I don't know if the story compares. Hopefully this game picks up what those earlier games got right.

The series is called Legacy of Kain. Blood Omen is a subtitle (since Soul Reaver 1). But yes, this is the series I had in mind. Even without Amy Hennig they can still make a worthy sequel.

I wouldn't call a game that plays better with mouse and keyboard than it does with a controller and runs great on an ancient hardware a poor console port.
Legend and Anniversary were good games (I didn't play Underworld), but the only reason why I decided to play them was because they were made by CD. All these LoK Easter eggs would be a reason enough :).

Ummmmm.
What?
Plays better with mouse and keyboard?
I dont own a controller (and never will), and only play with mouse and keyboard.
The 'poor console port' I mentioned was ONLY with the mouse/keyboard (ok, well, the camera angles sucked too, but that was through the whole franchise, and not limited to CD).
There were parts in EVERY CD TR game that was almost impossible to get past if you didnt have a controller.
As a matter of fact, I never finished any of the 3 because of this fact. Although the first 2 didnt have as many as the last one did.
I remember a ladder scenario, a boulder coming down a hallway that I couldnt get out of the way because it reset me to the middle of the hallway when I was way over to the right side, the octopus (which took me 30 tries to get past), and the list goes on and on.
At least core did a darn good job of porting over so the m/k actually did not hinder gameplay.
I have the exact same issue with Star Wars TFE.
Cant get past one of the bosses, because the controls go all wonky.
Will never finish the game, and really dont care to anymore either.

Curious considering "Legacy of Kain" was the subtitle in the first game.

Strange. From my experience the main thing CD TR games were missing was the difficulty :P. I haven't witnessed any places that were "almost impossible" - I had problems finding places that were remotely challenging (in this regard at least Anniversary was a noticeable improvement). The controls were perfectly fine - the only exception was jumping during wall-runs in Anniversary.
I'll admit that camera did have it's problems.
But again - I can't say anything about Underworld because I haven't played it.

And it doesn't hinder gameplay in CD's games either. They have learnt their lessons after Defiance :P.
Never played defiance.
But, they apparently didnt learn their lesson well.
Might not be a problem for some (like you), but it is horrible for people like me.
Try the Underworld demo.
Like I said earlier, the first 2 were not as bad as Underworld is.
;)

I know it seems confusing. BO was developed by Silicon Knights, and later CD took over the rights and they decided to "promote" LoK from game's name to series' name. It was the official name in the four following sequels. It's the main reason why many people still call it Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen instead of Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain.

I have to agree with Paradoks. I had a fairly pleasant run through all three Crystal games using the mouse and keyboard - Underworld does slip a bit on the controls, but not in a "bad port" sort of way. I can only recall a few points between the three where I suffered any significant control-related aggravation.
It's true about Defiance, though. It uses fixed camera angles, much like Resident Evil or Devil May Cry. I gave up on the mouse and keyboard very quickly with that one - the Tomb Raider games are definitely not part of that league.
