It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

liquidsnakehpks: nope damn downloader is there a way to check what portion is corrupt or missing ?
avatar
GameRager: I dunno offhand....maybe try downloading again later? Maybe the download is corrupting due to hop(server to server transit) issues or other problems?
will try it when a better downloader is available, i wish gog used the method blizzard downloader uses, the torrent style, i had stopped downloading diablo 2 months back and yet i can resume it now.....

GameRager: Skip integrity check maybe?
Remind me to never put you in charge of anything important.

"That check that makes sure everything is how it is should be? Yeah.. I just skip that" >.<

And liquidsnakehpks, those digests I gave you will narrow down which files are corrupt.

GameRager: Sometimes the files are fine and the integrity check will cause an error or hiccup with one's system. Don't call me dumb just because I suggest something risque. :P
Congratulations on reading something that wasn't there!

And if the integrity check fails, it means there *is* something wrong. It could be with the setup file or the integrity check itself..

If they are all different, let me know the version of the setup file, I may have an old version. If I do, I'll redownload and give you the new hashes.

GameRager: I've had the integrity check fail one moment and work the next on the same files, usually depending on if i've selected run as admin or not....:P
You need to fix your computer then, seeing as the integrity check is the very simple task of reading the file and compressing it to a string of characters. If it can't do that consistently, it's broken.
avatar
GameRager: Not every hardware config is the same you know.....doesn't mean mine is broken.
Yes it does, because you said your hardware configuration gives different results.

Different hardware configurations don't even enter the equation!

The integrity check would be completely pointless if it did depend on a specific hardware configuration anyway. How about you actually read up on the subject before arguing with someone? You'll stop sounding "dumb", I promise.

Alternatively, you could stop trolling, if that is what you are doing.

GameRager: ...
Actually, I'm trying to to help the guy out with my extensive knowledge on the subject.

I'm sure he'll be devastated when me being "whiny and elitist" gets the game working for him.
avatar
GameRager: Just because you have more knowledge on the subject doesn't mean your way of solving things will work 100% for sure. And help is help no matter the source, you know. It's not like I told him something THAT WOULD NEVER WORK...like throwing his PC out a window or something.
I never said it did work 100% for sure. However, it is still better than you "just hit it with a hammer until it fits in the hole sorta" method. The game may have ran, but then glitched or crashed later on. How much time would then be wasted before it was found out that he didn't even install the game properly?

You trying to help isn't bad, but the advice you gave him while doing so was. And then arguing with someone on a subject you admit you know very little about? That will make you sound stupid.
avatar
GameRager: Again, some learn by reading/etc and some by experience. I am just relating what has worked for me in the past is all. It may work or it might not but IMO it's still good alternatives to try as they did work good for me so they might work good for others.

I admit my rambling with you sounded kinda dumb on my part but that doesn't make me totally useless in this instance either.
And that's where I got my knowledge from. Reading and experience :)

And just because it works, doesn't make it good advice.. a fix is better than a workaround. Unless of course, a fix isn't available, then a workaround is better :P

You're certainly not useless and I didn't at all mean to come across as saying/implying that. I quite like the stories of someone proving a whole load of "you can't do that" people (who should have a greater knowledge) wrong :)

here are the md5 sums for king's bounty installer
haven't actually tested if the files are good but aria2 didn't complain anything so I guess they're OK
dc2d07951c9af3d199d8227ec014329c setup_kings_bounty-1.bin
2a361a7cefd012f7e05b18cf770dc80b setup_kings_bounty-2.bin
097a819fb2974b855a44d7e76d2c3f19 setup_kings_bounty.exe

edit: ran the installer with wine and it's integrity check didn't complain anything either so the md5 sums are good
edit2: oh xyem already posted the md5 sums earlier... I think I skipped a page when reading the thread
