Why can't the BBC let Telltale make the Doctor Who games? There is only so much I can take from that muck Charles Cecil is serving up. 4 games now and all shite.

I only played the first one but yes, I agree. They already contracted him for more next year too, didn't they?

I'm no graphics whore but that looks like a 1995 game, a la Montezuma's Revenge or something equally as bad. *shudders*

I didn't say it was bad or anything. I just meant that Monkey Island was never my cup of tea. I was always more into Sam and Max, and The Dig. Full Throttle I got into because of the cast list. I was less than impressed with the attempts to continue that series. I mean, not like, arms-folded-across-my-chest-sayin' " 's'that all you got?" less-than-impressed. More like Brad-Garrett-when-he-does-that-disappointed-Robert-Barone "Awwww" less-than-impressed. Like, sorely disappointed.

I guess not every adventure game is for everyone, that's for sure. As a sequel to the Lucasarts classics though, I feel Tales of Monkey Island hit closest to matching the humor and style of the originals.

Heavy Rain was IMHO a bad joke, purely QTE(the "adventure" part between QTEs was an after thought), the only way to actually impact significantly the story was to fail a QTE otherwise you were on rail from start to finish...

So for me it's not a very good new... but then again I was already kind of disappointed by Back to the Future Episode 1, extremely easy, no challenge whatsoever.. so in a way they have already started copying Heavy Rain... :)

I am starting to become worried with Telltale, they already mostly remove the "point and click" part from their latest games I just hope they don't plan to remove the "adventure" part too...

I love heavy rain and I love telltale so it's a good news for me. I don't really like jurassic park (please don't kill me ) but I may give it a try :)

Hehe, that's not from Telltale's game. That's from another game RPS was talking about that came out in the 90's.

Episodic format wouldn't be a problem, Heavy Rain is in reality very linear, most of your "decisions" are completely meaningless and don't have any impact outside the scene they took place in,with very few exception (the deaths and some minor "alternate" route) you could totally screw things up and still end up at the exactly same point you would have by doing everything right..

It's not the game itself that wasn't for me, it was the subject matter. I never cared much for pirates. At least not pirates of the 17th Century. Space pirates are another matter entirely, and totally cool.

But yeah, ninjas are one-dimensional and get boring after a while, and are really only suited for cannon fodder or "elite guard" roles. Though there was one ninja in particular I really liked. A fellow from the Nth Dimension.

Cecil ought to have done a good job, but yes, those Who games are atrocious. No redeeming value whatsoever.

Lol I remember playing Tresspasser. That's a game I'd like to see on gog sometime. The amount of crazy stuff that could happen in that game was pretty amazing. But I never got more than about halfway through because the controls were so challenging.
