Fever_Discordia: What's wrong with it?
I'm playing Chapter 1 of the first one right now for the first time so I'm just curious - was the 3rd ed rules you didn't get on with?
It was the story. It's my personal opinion but it almost competes with NWN on being so utterly boring and uninteresting that it took close to an year to finish it for the first time.

I never played it because I don´t like games were I have to play a party of characters. There is no other hero than me ;-) and I read that the combat system is same as BG and I never liked it. So since I never finished BG I concluded I would like IWD either, same goes for NWN^^

Coelocanth: Was having a discussion of IE games on another forum and got talking about the IWD series. Some people hated it, others loved it, but I was surprised at the number of people who said they hadn't even played it. Just wondering who here hasn't played this series and if you haven't, why not?
I haven't played it. I even don't know what IWD stands for. In case it stands for Icewind Dale I can actually say why: Lack of time. I bought the Atari Collection years ago and after finishing three quarters of Baldurs Gate 1 I lost interest and did not have enough time.

Actually, in first NWN you only control your character - there's an other issue with it, it's original campaign sort of sucks :D It's got plenty of great custom modules thou.

Thanks all for the interesting replies and discussion. As many of you have probably surmised I have game codes to give away for the IWD series, and the lucky winner is Spinefarm!

I have both games through GOG, but I haven't even installed either one. Why? I dunno... I guess they sounded like they'd be fun, but I got more involved with Ultima Underworld, and now Morrowind. Plus they'll take a little while to download on my connection.
