Hello GOG Community!

First off I am unsure if you have a support forum as I could not find it via search and I have searched for these issues on your forums already but I haven't found anything to help me yet. I have sent in a "Contact Us" message but decided to post on the forums as well due to the "time-sensitive" material.

I should have copied the message I sent word for word to avoid re-typing but hey that's OK!
I have recently decided to start purchasing games on GOG after the countless free games they have sent my way and purchased a Vanilla Visa gift card to purchase the Rayman games during this Ubisoft sale. I use Vanilla Visa gift cards for online purchases as I do not currently have a credit card and the card works fine on both Amazon and Steam (don't hate :P). I have also used this card to purchase The Witcher on GOG when it was on sale earlier in the year IIRC. I also tried tying the card to my paypal and going through paypal to access the card to no avail. The card would be confirmed by GOG would give me the same error message. After some research of my own I see that certain online transactions after difficulties with the Vanilla Visa cards due to the only thing tying the card to me is the zipcode, not the name and address that GOG ask for. I just wanted to give you all a summary of what I have already tried so you could possibly better help me.

TLDR;
I was wondering if anyone else had troubles using VV cards on GOG and if they had any solutions, also if there are prepaid cards that the community has used in the past that I should consider picking up for now on. Please excuse my garbled grammer, I typed this pretty fast. :P

Thank You!

If it has a Visa logo on it, then Gog accepts it. Every once in a while a CC provider will have gog listed on a black list of sites they can't do business with, but if you run it through paypal, I wouldn't think that would be a problem.

If it's a Visa card through Visa itself, I doubt that would be a problem.

EDIT: According to their site, it's only good in the US and not online. Which would indicate that it probably won't work. But I'm somewhat skeptical that Visa allows that kind of restriction.

Indeed I find that strange as well. Like I said, I believe I have used this card before so it would have to be a relatively new rule.
Id use your VV to create a PayPal and link directly to it. PayPal has yet to fail me... dont add a bank account or routing info just your VV to keep her safe and sound.

I spent a bit of time looking into it, and I have a very hard time believing that Visa permits that.

I'd do as Starkrun suggests pay through PayPal and hopefully that will go through.

Worst case, one thing you could probably do is ask somebody around here to do a trade for a Steam game or something else that you could buy with the card.
just use Vanilla Mastercard i used it 2 times already and absolutely no problems :)
so in the future you should use a VM card Instead if VV card.
I keep a prepaid green dot Visa on hand for online purchases always. I never keep more than a hundred bucks on it, and it's never failed me yet.
Thanks for all the help guys. I'll keep the Mastercard and Green dot cards in mind for next time.

Did it work out?
Using Paypal has not solved my problem. I'll be tinkering with it for a bit, but I'm not going to waste much more time with it tonight.
Does your bank offer a "debit" Visa or MasterCard that draws funds straight from your account? Mine costs me a mere $10 a year and works online worldwide.

In the US those are usually included with the checking account. Although they might not be free for much longer. We usually call them check cards and they'll have a Visa or Mastercard logo on them, just like the ones you use.
I buy all my games here using visa and mastercard giftcards and I have next to know problems, except when my dumbass self makes a typo but that's about it.
