Whitecroc: Final Fantasy games are killer apps. The 360 is cheaper than the PS3 (or was at the time) and has a larger library of games I'm interested in. What's the problem?
ShmenonPie: Firstly, the idea of buying a Microsoft system for a Final Fantasy game. I grew up with FF, it was always on Nintendo and then Sony consoles, so the idea of actually going out and making purchase of a machine manufactured by Microsoft for the purpose of playing a FF game is madness.
Secondly, XIII is the worst (or, at the very least, most disappointing) FF game ever released, and I'd consider it several miles away from "killer app" status.
Those two reasons are why.
...OK, maybe XIV is worse, but that's an MMO, so it doesn't really count.
I'm not saying that you're wrong, but I do struggle to accept this as reality regardless.
I don't hold to the idea of company loyalty. I pay for what works best *now*, not what worked best *before*, at least when two products are nearly identical. In the case of consoles, they're all just specialized computers these days, anyway. The 360 and PS3 have more than enough solid cross-platform games for me to be satisfied.
At the time I bought my 360 FFXIII wasn't out yet. Fortunately I found FFXIII to be to my liking, and even made a point to get all the Achievements for it. Regardless, I do not regret my choice of console - although if I had more money I'd get PS3 as well, of course.
