I've seen in quite a lot of reviews that the game is great and all. I've been playing lots and lots of RPG's and MMO's for the last few years, I played (and loved) Fallout 1 & 2 AFTER finishing Fallout 3, later, I bought Baldur's Gate 1 & 2 and I'm loving them so far, and also I've played Planescape: Torment.

So, I have quite a bit of experience with old and new RPG's.

Regarding to D&D, I've played, as I already said, Baldur's Gate 1 & 2, Planescape: Torment and Dungeons & Dragons Online.

Basically, I'm seeing options to buy an online RPG that I'd like to enjoy, but also won't make a big hole on my wallet and Neverwinter Nights is fairly cheap right now.

Basically, I'd like to know your point of view on this game.
I'm not clear on what you're looking for. Are you saying you want to play NWN exclusively online?
You'll get a lot of play for your buck. The only thing that bothered me about NN is the whole "rectangular" universe. You'll see what I mean when you play the game. Apart from that, some die hard D&D fans will complain about the shallow experience of the storyline, but I don't think it's that bad, really.

What I'm trying to say is, you'll probably enjoy it.
The main campaign is kind of boring, at least to start. (always got bored before the end of the first chapter) But the expansions are much better. And of course there are the large number of fan made modules you can play... And persistent worlds for online multiplayer

More or less, what I meant was that if it's simply worth it, I don't have any idea how it plays online but for a well rounded single player and (many people says) an amazing multiplayer it seems pretty good, but I don't trust YouTube and it's videos, as more than a couple of times had mislead me to belive it's a crappy game.
It's more of an action RPG, but it's not very good at being one. It's neither as deep or detailed as the character creation options would lead you to believe nor does it benefit from its more action driven nature.

Generally speaking, it's Bioware's weakest title and outclassed utterly by Obsidian's sequel.

But just to be fair, sheer number of mods NWN has gives it great versatility, one that NWN2 would probably never have.

I don't have anything to say about multiplayer, but as for the single-player, yes, it's worth it.

The first campaign is generally considered rather meh. Shadows of Undrentide is better, but still nothing special. Hordes of the Underdark, though, in my opinion, is one of Bioware's best campaigns to date, and there's also a wealth of great user-built adventures and campaigns out there - some of which put Bioware's own work to shame. Hordes and the user content are really the two main reasons to buy the game.

The main failing of the game is the combat engine, which suffers a lot from the fact that you can only control your main character - your followers act according to AI scripts. That flaw, of course, will annoy you in every fan campaign you play.

I've heard the expansions are superior too. But I just can't muster up enough interest in the core game to find out.
Heh, thanks everyone for replying, I went ahead and I bought the game, it's installing right now and I've already asked GOG for my CD-Key to play online and I'm waiting patiently for it, I'll write my own review when I start playing this game.
