The thread title sums things up nicely.

I'm nearly finished with the first chapter of Trails in Skies and I'm looking for something to tide me over until the second chapter appears.

I have heard that Grandia 2 is very similar in style to Trails in Skies so it seems like a good choice. I just want to make sure it will actually work on a modern system.

Has anyone played Grandia 2 recently on a Windows 7 64-bit system with a modern graphics card?
My current system utilizes a Ge Force 250 GTS.

Thank you in advance for your feedback.
I've never actually tried it, but both the PS2 and PC ports of Grandia II (the original release was for Dreamcast, and by far the best) are notoriously shoddy.

Buy the Dreamcast original and run it in an emulator, it'll probably be easier, more stable, and have better audio and video quality.

I second this.
You could also get Grandia 1 for PSX and play that via emulator, but it's not as good as Grandia 2.

I've got the PC version of Grandia 2 and it has some problems.
It's already strange to get to run on WinXP-SP3, I don't know if it runs in Win7 at all.
