JumpinJackFlash: Again you're missing my point and are failing to acknowledge it. Anyway, there is no talking with you...
I got your point but i don't agree with it and never will. You're trying to compare the quality of mobile games to console/PC games, which is quite ridiculous, frankly. The price tag itself reflects that. Most buy to play titles on iOS and Android cost around U$1 - U$4, with the most expensive titles costing U$7 (i'm taking US prices into account here, i don't know how much these games cost in every App Store around the world) like some Gameloft titles. Yes, there are a few exceptions, such as some Square Enix games that cost more than U$10 like Chaos Rings and those Final Fantasy remakes, but the rule is that buy to play mobile games don't go above U$8.
Now, let's be realistic for a second: do you seriously expect U$1 or U$7 games to have as much content, quality and production values as U$60 games for consoles? It will never happen. Even when compared to portables like the 3DS or the PSVita, mobile games fall short. You will never find something with as much quality, production values and content as Zelda A Link Between Worlds on a mobile device. Zelda is a U$40 title. And i'm not even taking into account the rampant piracy in mobile devices, which is one of the reasons why most games moved into F2P. Even for Steam standards the prices in the App Store and Google Play are way too low, and the reflects in the quality of those games.
I'm not saying that being more expensive = better game, i'm just saying that mobile games usually need to be more simple because of the lower price tags (things like Angry Birds). You can't expect to play something like Watch Dogs on a mobile device.
There's another thing worth mentioning: the touch screen. Not every game works well on a touch screen. I think that slower paced games are fine on a touch screen, but anything that requires fast movements and precision (like platformers, shooters and action games in general) doesn't really work well. I've already played quite a few FPS on Android and iOS (such as Modern Combat, Dead Trigger, BF Bad Company 2) and all of them are really clunky on a touch screen. It's playable, but it's nothing compared to a keyboard and mouse or even a controller.
I knows there are some third-party bluetooth controllers for Android (don't know about iOS), but developers NEED to design their games with the touch screen in mind, because they can't simply expect people to have one of these controllers.
JumpinJackFlash: Except they are...Anyway, horses for courses n' all that.
Uhhh, no? Just tell anyone with basic common sense to go browse the App Store and Google Play and then compare them to PSN and Xbox Live. It's pretty easy to see which one has the best games.
What's next? Clash of Clans is the best game ever?
