Any Brits out there will who follow the news will know about the IRA man who was just found guilty in Lithuania for attempting to buy weapons with the intention of carrying out terrorist attacks in London and Northern Ireland.

This brought to my mind a few months ago when a Congressman from New York and Chairman of Homeland Security in the House of Representatives, Peter King, was attempting to observe Muslims for "radicalisation". It was later revealed that he supported the IRA and he said that there was a difference between Muslim extremism and IRA Nationalism. While I know Senator King did not specifically endorse this instance, it demonstrates how the American politicians don't know how serious Irish terrorism still is in the UK, even 13 years after the Belfast Agreement.
