I live in South Africa and was wondering what would happen if a game download is stopped for whatever reason
Does the download continue from where it stopped or do you have start again ?

That depends on the way you download the file.
If you use the downloader, it's no problem, it goes on where it left.
If you use your browser's downloader, it can present a problem, as it can't pick it up after some time (the URL expires).
You could also use a download manager, but I can't comment on that, as I don't do that.

Pretty sure that the download URL expires after about 10 minutes and any disruptions after that wouldn't let it automatically resume (think you can copy & paste an alternative DL link in some managers that might work). The gog downloader is the best bet for dodgy internet connections (well other than getting a better internet connection obviously)

You should definitely use the GOG downloader (see question 6). It's simple, safe, and easy, and you can pretty much forget about it until you need it again. Just as GOG intended.
