Dear staycationists, we’re pleased to present you the next set of tour packages from our ‘Interplay Summer Staycations’ offer. Our offering is known for loads of fun and really low prices, and that’s not just marketing bla bla, but it has been approved by the Staycationist's Union of Perpetually Excited Raconteurs*! In honor of our endorsement by S.U.P.E.R, we're using an excessive amount of exclamation marks in this newspost!

Just throwing a question out there, are there any of these titles that are a must? I don't regonize the majority of them. :)

Smannesman: Isn't "six-degrees-of-freedom".. well, not much?
avatar
drhoads: lol... Must have meant 6 axis of freedom. x+-, y+-, z+-
You thought of Six degrees of separation? ^^

Already own all these games.

IMO Fallout 1-2 is a must have.
Sacrifice is really good, I don't know if I'd say it's a 'must have' but it's very enjoyable and has held up fairly well over the years.

Everyone should at least consider it for $3.
I'm tempted to get Freespace 2, Descent 1&2, 3 & expansion.

I dunno if I'd like Sacrifice.

GameRager: 6 acutally.....as each listed shows two states/axis(+/-) ;)

diegopmc: An axis is a line, and not a segment or half-line (line that has a beginning but no ending). There's one X axis that goes from negative infinite to infinite, one Y axis, and one Z axis. :) Are you sure you're not making a confusion with quadrants in the Cartesian plane?
First of all, axes is plural of axis...

Next, it's not called 6 axes, but 6 degrees of freedom.
1. forward, reverse
2. up, down
3. left, right
4. roll
5. pitch
6. yaw

Do it! Throw in the first Freespace too if you don't have it. Then get FreeSpaceOpen (from http://www.fsoinstaller.com) and let 'er rip. Makes a great game stunning.

I thought we were talking about mathematics... Anyway, that was my point, there are not six axes in 3D space. In 6D space there are, indeed, six axes. :P

For only $2.99 I say jump in...with both feet. Try your disc see if it runs OK, I mean who needs to throw away money needlessly when there are other games to buy, but I think the Fallout Bible is worth the $2.99 alone.
I had some problems with fallout 1 and 2 CD version, flickering/blackened image to be specific...

In what genres?

Default options would be Fallouts, Giants and Sacrifice. Freespace if you like space sims, MDK if you like third-person action.

Metro09: How many times have the Interplay games been on sale? Plenty. Honestly it surprises me I still see people with forum join dates of 2009/2010ish go 'ZOMG, t3h Fallout games on sale!!!' There are people that don't already own these?
avatar
DrIstvaan: I think it is understandable, as since the "GOG 1st birthday buy 1, get 1 free" promo Interplay games went on sale only during the large '09 Xmas sale; aside from that, zero times, not even in last year's Christmas promo.
Not entirely convinced that's accurate but I'll take it on faith.
The Descent games are so badass. Never got to play 3 (or the Freespace games) but I picked them all up and I'll get to them as soon as I'm done nostalgically reliving D1 and 2.

I bought Fallout 1 and 2 during this sale. In my entire time here (close to a year), they've not had an interplay sale -- maybe they had a plethora of them in 2009 and before, but not since I've been here. So no, I did not own these until I made the purchase a few days ago.
