Just a quick interest probe to see if anyone would actually make use of this...

I've been labelling all my GOG games on CD and DVD with LightScribe to make them look half-decent. They've been fairly simple - a GOG logo up top, the name of the game and a DVD or CD logo on the side - but I've been thinking about making more detailed ones with official game logos, and the like.

How many people here have LightScribe drives, buy LightScribe discs and would actually make use of these if I created them?
had one several years ago... has been destroyed because I used a bad alcoholic CD burning software.

I like lightscribe, but would not use it anymore (I think, the last DVD I have written on is 3 or 4 years ago).
IT's not that easy to find LightScribe cds, and they are not that cheap either.

LightScribe drives on the other hand, are pretty common.

Id rather buy some InkJet printer and sticky paper to make printable CD covers.

You can get discs with blank labels and printers which are able to print directly onto them (eg. Canon MP800) - would probably involve less work :P

I have done that but Lightscribe takes too long to finish burning and from my experience always in shades of the color of the DVD you bought. It looks good though if you don't mind not having colored labels.
I like LightScribe, but I haven't burned any discs for a long time.

Not to deter the idea, which I think is good, but many of the games here are so small that it seems like a waste to burn only one game per disc. But we also have the DVD Cover thread, which those look great, and that already means you'll have one game per disc, so...

You should never stick labels onto CDs. The adhesive on the back of sticky labels tends to not agree with the surface of the CD. As DreadMoth said, you can buy specially printable CDs and printers for it, but they're not cheap.
As you can buy special paper that is in shape of CDs and can be sticked easily :P
