Revenge of the Mayans!

La Mulana, a challenging old-school free-form platformer that lets you explore mysterious ancient Mayan ruins Indiana Jones-style, is available 60% off on GOG.com. That's only $5.99 for the next 24 hours!

Admit it: even though you told everyone that you don't give a damn about that whole Mayan Calendar Doomsday panic last year, you felt relieved when you woke up the day after 12-21-2012. You never know, right? Mayans had such a great civilization going, there's bound to be many secrets left in the ruins of their once-great cities. Who knows what ancient knowledge is buried there for an adventurous soul to find? The riches. The power. The danger. Yes, probably mostly danger. Anyway, it's about time someone took the gamble and explored those places. You know, for the good of mankind? Not to mention all the gold.

If you like to become that hero someday, La Mulana will test your resolve. This amazing platformer, in which you explore a forgotten Mayan city guarded by many monsters and filled with booby traps, is so challenging that some might call it punishing. While you explore the 18 large areas of this unique gameworld, you'll face riddles, secrets, and mysteries worthy of the classic pulp adventure stories. As you venture further and further into the ancient metropoly, you'll witness marvels and horrors unseen by the modern men--all in glorious pixel-art! Among exploration-centered platformers, it's hard to find a match for La Mulana.

Grab your whip and get your hat, leave your worries on the doorstep, cause you'll get a whole lot of new ones once you accept the challenge of the Mayan city La Mulana, for only $5.99. The offer lasts until Thursday, February 7, at 10:59 AM GMT.

HunterZ: I'm tempted to pick this up, but $5 is a mental barrier for me.

Is there any difference from the Wiiware version?
Well the PC version has:
Hell Temple which was in the original game but wasn't in the Wii-ware version do to Nintendo's policy(games on wii-ware can only be so large)
360 pad support
it's uncensored the US/UK versions of La mulana on the Wii have altered statues and such
Redone time attack mode
When is the 24 hours up? I can't find the clock that is usually posted. Not that it matters, I'm on this like white on rice, like stink on shit, like ugly on a baboon's ass.

EDIT: Never mind, I got it.

oh man everyone ever buy this game it is the 2d equivalent of dark souls
This game is very hard. Not just the combat and enemy, the world is huge and open too. Lots of hazardous environment. I don't think there's anybody out there could finish the game in single run.

I think it's certainly value for money. The game isn't typical 'mediocre' newer indie release, like some people said on some other thread. In fact it's a remake of the 2005 version which still stay true to the hardcore roots. I classified this as a classic release.

Yes master...
I wonder if anyone could do me a favor and gift this to me.

I use a prepaid creditcard for my purchases here and It doesn´t have enough on it right now. I've gone through my bank to add more money to it but it was too late in the day by then and the transaction won't go through until the beginning of the next business day which is an hour or so away, but by then I´ll be at school and miss the offer.
After that I can easily pay back with some other game.
Having played both La-Mulana and Dark Souls, I think that La-Mulana is a far better game. Then again, maybe it is because I have far more love for Zelda-esque games than I do for hack & slash ones?

By the way, there is a speedrun that is about 2 hours and 20 minutes in length, so someone has made winning the game an art.
