A game I've been playing A LOT recently is Team Fortress 2. It's probably one of my favorite first person shooters of all time, and although I know not everyone on these forums is a big fan of Steam, I'd go so far as to say TF2 is it's killer app. Yeah, you can play it on Xbox and PS3 but the "definitive" version is the computer version. That being said, I have a problem, and it's less with the game proper and more with the community.

I'd say my best class is Medic, which is because no one ever plays Medic, and when they do, they switch to Sniper or something immediately.

Am I the only one who has this problem?

Oh, and on a lighter note, I was playing CTF mode earlier and the guy who grabbed my team's briefcase was so clueless when his teammate kept saying "walk over to me" (He was standing on the place where you score) and he was just going "what? What?"
Sift trough servers until you find one with a decent community, no paid bonuses and constant map change and you're good to go. It's been a while since I've had any trouble with my team, because I went trough a load of servers and just favorited the few unspoiled ones, which I was lucky enough to find.

Don't know how's the situation with Merican servers, so good luck.

Nah, I tried a little while ago but my favourited servers seem to have all gone, and the few random servers I joined were just awful. I'm considering playing a bit again as I'm itching to play some kind of FPS and I used to play TF2 a lot before the hats started taking over.

I was going to make a thread myself asking if anyone knew of any servers still going with decent communities, until I searched and saw this thread. I'll post back if I find any decent ones though I guess it won't be ideal as you're in the US.
But, hats.

Sorry, I didn't understand what is the actual problem. No one else wants to play the same class (medic) you like to play? Why is that a problem?

Also, what is this "community" you speak of? I've played, and still play, lots more TFC than TF2, but I've never considered any public server to have a meaningful community. I go to play to a server which is running a map I'd be interested, and where most players are human (not bots). Then I play. I presume most other people on public servers are the same, just visitors jumping from server to server. Or is this somehow quite different on TF2? I haven't noticed when I have played it, but maybe I wasn't paying attention.
Time to vent about something other than classes. Right now, the TF2 Item server is down. In other words, any items you earned or bought cannot be used, and the Mann Co Store is closed.

But here's the thing: I think this is INTENTIONAL so as to promote their upcoming game mode. So in other words, they promote this event by temporarily REMOVING FEATURES FROM THE GAME. What kind of logic is that?
Yeah, it's not like all the TF2 fanboys constantly pressing F5 right now isn't taking down all their servers, amirite? :P

I'm a regular at a clan's servers. Hell, there's lots of us that are regulars. We say hi, we chat with folks, we help each other out, we trade with one another.

I guess it really depends on where you're playing, but at least where I hang out? It's all cool.
