talking about an indie game with like 2 people behind it that is. For most retail games you're not contributing at all to the game's development, you're just contributing to the sales numbers and the publisher's pockets.
I agree for AAA retail games, I don't really see the point of preordering them. My comment was really directed at indie titles, who are often working on the game until the last minute so they need an early injection of cash. Maybe a few more than two people though. :-)
I think if people start jumping on the bandwagon saying all preorders are bad, they will hurt the indie devs who need the revenue from preorders to release a polished game.
