I've often thought that if my dad was still alive he'd be fairly easy to convert to the cult of game, he was always one for shiny new gadgets. I don't think he'd have been there swearing vehemently into a headset and pwning n00bs though, he wasn't that awesome
Get him on the GOG server. That'd make nightly TF2 a bit more interesting.
Awesome story, it's moments like that when you need home surveillance, or direct internet streaming. It would have been a glory to behold. ;)
Get him join gog.com so GOG would be for Good Old Gamers.

Menelkir: It was glorious.

Awesome post! I agree, get him to play on the GOG TF2 server (which I honestly didn't realize existed until I saw TheJoe's post).
I'd be happy to join the opposing team and give it my best. ;)

Fatherhood master!
I thought my nerdy ass dad was cool for bringing home games like Doom and Duke Nukem home and playing them with me when I was 7.
But your dad sounds absolutely legendary.
I've recently resurrected one of my C64's and started checking out my old tapes, and found one from 1985/86 with Fort Apocalypse. I started playing, and drawn by the sound magic of the Commodore, my mother entered the room, and immediately said "Your father used to play that.". Now, that came to me as a shock, for i knew my father only from the "games are lame, for kinds, and the only good game is chess, which the computer will never play well" side. Since my mother was only into Boulder Dash, Dino Eggs and Krakout, i wonder, from whom did i inherit the love for story meets gameplay games, like The Last Ninja, or Ultima.
And he's a specialist in "automatics and robotics", called "electrical and control engineering" or something, talking all about propability, AI, fuzzy logic, and other wierd things. Now i feel bad about myself. ;P
Your dad roxx!:)
I think they wrote about your dad on kotaku today:

Meh, it's just f-bombing. No old-school imagination whatsoever. You should hear balkan swearing, it's an art form.
Oh, hey, I found one. Guys, check this out.

Hang on. How did you not know about the server when you're in the group and I spam it with events an announcements all the time?

Aside from the last few weeks, I'm rarely on Steam. I think I originally joined back when I thought the group was just an easy way to meet up and organize a quick match.
I also can have a tendency to overlook stuff too, so, eh, who knows. :P
