So I'm going to get into the fantastic MAME project again. Many years ago I, when MAME was still developed in DOS I used a Windows frontend to select the games and launch them. While this is not strictly necessary today I would like something similar.

What I'm looking for is a frontend or fork that has a lot of options and preferably some statistics about the games you have played. The old one I used in the past did keep track of how many times I had started each game and that is one things that is very important for me today. It may seem like a minor thing but it is important for me. Some more statistics beyond that would be cool as well. I don't need more graphics for the GUI than the screenshots you make yourself. I tried out MAME Classic but I was disjointed. Do anyone of you know a GU/Frontend/MAME fork that could suit my needs?

EmuLoader, maybe?
What is a fork, an emulator? I have a great MAME emulator but that actually doesn't sound like what you are after exactly.

Shit, I just realized I deleted it.

Miaghstir: Fork.
Oh, well, you could just have easily have said it was "shit someone like me would never understand even if he went through virtual intelligence boosting like that guy in "The Lawnmower Man" :P The sad thing is my brother has is own computer tech company and would understand every bit of it.

I planned on doing an explanation, but thought Wikipedia would explain in greater detail.

Anyway:
Say, person A has developed an application. B finds out about it and thinks it's neat but could do a bit more. A for whatever reason don't want to add that functionality. B copies what A has done so far (it's licensed under GPL, so he's perfectly free to do so), and adds what he wants to his version. A continues to develop the application in his vision.

B's application is a fork of A's.

(A and B may or may not cherry-pick stuff that they think the other does "right" after the fork.)

Thanks. I hope I didn't come across as rude there. :D

Not at all.
I used to use something like Mame FX 32 or something like that. It was pretty decent for what I wanted it to be.

Stooner: EmuLoader, maybe?
Thanks! EmuLoader was exactly the kind of program I was looking for. Much better than MAMEUI in my opinion.
