shmerl: Early access is a weird concept. The only reason to play an unfinished game could be if you want to help beta test it.
Early access / open alpha games can be fun in their own right, like Kerbal space program or dwarf fortress.

I agree that it's less tempting with story-centric games, where you will clearly see you have an incomplete product
