Aliasalpha: Err a battle of britain game named IL2? How many sturmoviks were in use on either side of that conflict? I suspect it might be about the same number of supermodels lusting after me at the moment...
Also I can't say I like the name, it makes it sound like an expansion rather than a new game but the logo at least emphasises the new part of the name so it could be worse
Heh, yeah... Did the IL-2 model ever flied over Britain? I'm not much into the history of this conflict.
Looks like 1C/Ubisoft don't care much about it. Personally I'm fine with it, it's better that it reflects that the product is a sequel to the first IL-2.
Aliasalpha: As for the game, really looking forward to it, The Battle Of Britain was the first military conflict I really learned anything about, largely thanks to the utterly fantastic manual for Their Finest Hour. I'd love to see some cross game play though, imagine how cool it'd be to be flying a Baufort on a patrol for enemy shipping, spotting a uboat controlled by people playing Silent Hunter 5 and dropping a few torpedoes on him
Pretty cool, the crossplay idea always fascinates me, but I don't think publishers care enough for making it happen; hell they barely care about publishing one single simulation game, there's just a few in the market every year.
Only salvation is single games large in scope, like ArmA2. Or what would be of the cancelled Star Wars: Battlefront 3, in which you would go seamlessly from ground to air and to space; and even water if they added water/naval units that is, don't know if there was in the Battlefront series.
