Funny thing is, most Americans are actually Europeans in disquise. Another funny thing is we still don't have a proper name for our nation. Yeah, i feel cheated that my country is named after a region rather an actual name like England, Germany or France.

Actually you'll find that etymology for most European countries is also rather boring - with the most common being "Land of the X peoples!"
