This guy's been making IF for years, and now he wants to try selling it. Raises $14000 in one day. By reading his donation offers, he knows how to make special promotions. :D

Not to derail the discussion of the game or the donations, and no offense intended to the guy, but that has to be the most stereotypical "computer geek" I have ever seen in my life. Watching that video was like watching a living cartoon caricature, I loved every minute of it!

Yeah, I saw that on RPS. It's amazing how much people are willing to support someone who is still in touch with his consumer base. Am I alone in thinking a pair of 20s driving goggles would dramatically improve his... image?

The guy is pretty talented, I played some of his games back when I was really into IF. I was actually considering paying $25 to get the PC-version, but I don't really buy his reasons for not making it available to a wider audience in the first place, and after considering it, I'm not really tempted to pay $25 for a $5 game.

Plus, I pre-ordered two commercial IF-games (and one IF/RPG-game) for the Commodore 64 a few days ago, so that' fills my "buying weird computer stuff" quota for this month.
