Recently I saw a Pop Fiction episode talking about Shadow of the Colossus. I really love this game. I mean, I think I love it too much. Back in days my brother bought a PS2 copy (the last PS2 game we bought, actually), and this game captured me. I've played it again, and again, and again...I've discovered the secret garden by myself, posting on a forum the way you can reach it (it was an italian forum, and during that time I can connect to Internet, with a 56k, only one hour per week after 6.30 PM on Saturday, lol). And...during all those year, I've continued to search for...nothing.

I bought a PS3 copy of the game, I completed it (again) 7 times on Normale, two on Hard, furfilled all Time Trials, and sometimes I still play the game for an hour searching for a secret, a view, something I've missed.

Some says there's a hidden secret in the game, but thanks to hacking some users discovered there's nothing left uncovered. Still, I continue my search, knowing this.

Have you ever managed a "problem" like this one with a game you realy like? I mean, it's not really a problem because I'm not addicted or something like that, but from time to time I put the disc on PS3, I kill a colossus or two and I search (by waking) something I've mised.
I love this games too. A lot. (probably not as much, but is a favorite)
And if someday I can get a PS3, it'll be the first game I want to play on it...
If we really look deep inside we all have problems.

XD
So no one did a similar thing with other games? I did it with Uru too, and I uploaded a complete savegame on Internet but then it went destroyed by time.
I usually never play a game more then 1 time (unless several years passes) and if i can't find a certain secret i just get a guide or search online, i just dont have the patience for it and i think it's silly to waste your time on something like that.
However now with steam achievements and possibly gog achievements soon, it sometimes requires you to do replay a game several times, if you care for them offcourse.
That happened to me too and it is time to accept you have to move on.

That level of enjoyment it's the most wonderful tribute you can ever give to a game and its developers.

Try to find another game that pleases you as much. Maybe keep an eye on The Last Guardian development state?

Please DON'T call Last Guardian. I bought a PS3 for it back in 2010, and...no one knows anything about the game. Some say is cancelled, some don't :(

Ico then?
I'm not really sure about what you're asking, but if it's about being consumed with discovering game secrets, then yes, I do know the feeling.

Back in the 80s I remember a friend telling me that there was some secret mega master sword in Zelda on NES that could kill anything in the game with one hit. He made the whole thing up but I ended up spending FOREVER trying to find that damn sword. Some children can be very cruel.

And I also remember desperately trying to escape Doom when I first played it. You know the background of the mountains and green skies? Yeah, I kept asking if I could run off into those mountains and escape the demons. Yet another cruel friend of mine told me I could, so I kept looking for a hidden exit. I had yet to educate myself on the SKYBOX.

Already did it all the possible, even on Ico. Including a 1 hour and 50 minutes speedrun :P

Yes, I'm asking for similar experience. Basically try to do or discover things that are not in the game or aren't possible to do.

Why would anyone want that? The fun is where the demons and shotguns are. ;)

Of course. But there was a point when I was in my mid teens that games got a little too serious. Throw in weed and long nights with friends glued to a tv set/monitor with Doom on it... it was surreal. Imagination can take a person to weird places.
At least SotC isn't under active development.

Now that ADOM is being worked on again, it's time to puzzle over the weird tome anew...

Edit: the GameFAQs board archive for Fez is also an interesting read; some of the more obscure stuff in that game took a lot of collaborative effort to work out, and it still may not have uncovered everything.
