JudasIscariot: So, OP, when are you building that temple dedicated to GOG so you can persuade people Populous-style to join in? :P
You can create a popular, lucrative religion around any half baked dumb shit. Just look at... religion. So basing one on GOG shouldn't be difficult at all.
Well let's not go overboard. They're doing fantastic work, and are presumably working very hard, but if you go to the specific game forums (the "ghettos" of the site) you'll see various complaints and frustrations about the stability of the older titles. If it's always been that way, that's one thing, but a few people have suggested that GOG has been stumbling a bit lately, such as configuring DosBox and what not. Obviously, they can only do so much, as we expect them to release games every few days (we can be so whiny), so I suspect given the time they work quite hard in that span. (Hopefully the new partnership with nGlide will help alleviate some of the 3D woes.)

It's very rare they do anything for compatibility other than a quick google search for tweaks you could do yourself.

I don't blame them though, there is no profit in truly remastering these games.
Actually, just the other night I remember a thread which had some pretty blatant GOG bashing, apparently due to GOG not having one particular game here, and then claims that GOG was sitting on "gazillions" of games and refusing to release them.

Not to mention sickening EA fawning.

Also, CaptainGyro is a common lvl.1 troll.

Yeah I can just imagine TheEnigmaticT just sitting on a pile of games a la Smaug from the Hobbit all the while stroking his boxed copy of System Shock 2 and whispering to it "They will never have my Precious! NEVER!!"

Navagon: They've got some strong support from popular gaming blogs like Destructoid
You cannot be talking about CDPR! They gave The Witcher 2 a 6/10.
I get diffferent tastes in games (it's a 10/10 for me), but anything below 7.5-8 is a crime :D

GOG needs to have a least 30 games ready at any time to keep their current release schedule going. If you take a look at the games signed by partners that use Dosbox and are already sold on the net( in essence, games that are "release-ready", you will notice a possible lineup of 50+ games. That is why many are so unhappy with their current release line-up.

GOG is speeding up releases (four this week!). But in many ways you still notice that GOG is the new kid on the block and is handling a lot of their business rather unprofessionally. While that is part of their charm, it is sometimes rather irritating.

Sorry, my bad. We just can't help our self. Whenever we see somebody comfortable and secure in their happy place, we like to burst in and get all nihilistic.

Concepts like "joy" and "humor" are utterly alien to germans. (Also I heard that "joy" is somewhat similar to work. Because many people play games for "joy" and I play games (you know, managerial sims) to "work" while I'm off duty)

;-P
