So I've been playing a lot of Smite which recently entered closed beta, it is basically a new moba that borrows heavily from Leagues IP infrastructure and basic changes to the DotA formula except for the game is third person. Total Biscuit does a lot better job of explaining it then me so take a look at his WTF Is...

Instead of just telling everyone about the game I'm going to hand out a beta key to a random person who will be chosen by random.org in a couple of days. There is one major rule for the winner though: everyone admitted into the beta gets 3 keys to give to people and I want you to hand out at least one of those keys to this community so eventually everyone interested gets in.

UI looks ugly and uninspired, 3D graphics look like a copy of every MMO ever made, and MOBA's have the worst online community of any game
Do not smite me, O great king!

In all seriousness, I have played LoL and Dota, and while I did enjoy them, the moba community is one of the worst online communities (until LoL, I thought blizzard forums were the worst I have seen. Boy, LoL forums gave blizzard forums a run for their money in terms of awfulness) I have encountered so I am reluctant to try any new ones.

The game does look decent though.
I would love to get a key.

Thanks for the giveaway. +1
Not entering, but +1 for the giveaway. Also, a little promotion to it:

How could you run a giveaway without linking there, man? ;)
Bump for great justice.
They demoed this at PAX last year, I'm glad to see it's coming along as it looks gorgeous. It would be nice to have one of these that's less intimidating for newbies. I don't know if this one will be, but of course there's always the chance. At any rate, it looked like you could force your way into beta by buying a starter pack, is that true?

Yes it is. They changed the system a bit from TB's video, in that you can still buy beta access with any of the packs but they just give you enough Favor (IP) to buy x amount of gods instead of straight up giving you some pre-selected ones.

I checked their page, but how many USD is it? I could not ascertain? I'd demo it for 10 USD or cheaper, but more I'm not so sure... Still, seems like they'll launch for sure now.

8 USD for the cheapest pack to get in. I attached the buy screen for anyone else interested. Its also important to note they aren't wiping stuff at the end of the beta, so there isn't a reason to limit your playtime.

I would love to get a key for Smite.

I've watched a couple of gameplay vids on YouTube and it looks pretty fun.

The interest in the MOBA genre seems to be really high, so I would expect alot of copy cats. But this has that 3rd person 3D twist to it.

If you're willing to spend 8 USD you can have a key right now (and a couple of permanent gods you get to keep even after the game launches). That's what I'm gonna do.
