I also highly recommend The Longest Journey and Gemini Rue. Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers is also one very good adventure pnc. For something not quite so serious the first two Simon the Sorcerer games are also quite fun.

More like all story and no game. In that regard I found it to be a big disappointment.
