it says:

Welcom to GOG.com Installer

Your purchased game will be installed to C:/Program Files (x86)/GOG.com/Alone in the Dark and 372.9 MB of free space is required. Start menu folder and a desktop shortcut will be created.

To continue with the installation, click "Start Installation". However, if you wish to change the install location or adjust other settings click "Options"

Whatever I pressed Start installation and the game works fine I see it on my desktop shortcut and it works

Click "Options"

Change the install folder to something like C:/Games/AitD1+2+3

Desktop icons optional, but I'd recommend them.

Check "Yes, I have read...."

Start installation.
I'm very curious.. if someone can't read and understand the installation instructions.. can they still enjoy the game even though that's also completely in English?

I did it man the game is showing as a desktop shortcut and it works fine
its just that I was a little scared because I don't like the process of buying and downloading games for PC since I thought it's going to be to complicated and wrong decision will ruin everything

Is this guy trolling us?

Is this your first GOG game?

Don't mean to sound like an ass but was there any point to this thread?

No it's just that it was the first time I bought a game by myself because my brother was the one buying the last games we have got

I wouldn't worry too much about it, installing games on Windows with an actual installer is usually very straightforward. The only thing that might go wrong is, as many people have told you, the security of WIndows Vista/7 being overly protective.
Luckilly for the most part GOG is a very friendly community and will usually do everything they can to help you. Although next time it would be better to post any questions you have in the forum of the game you have the questions about.
The General forum is cluttered enough already ;)

Okay, well have fun.

Alone in the Dark is a great game but the controls are a real pain and will take some getting used to. Stick with it though.

The game used to terrify me as a kid :)

tank-like controls and fixed camara is everything I love about the game because it makes it scarier for me
