Ml33tninja: Dont get me stated on Morrowind lost a few month of LIFE playing that game. Game like that needs warning on the box. WARNING: Game may consume LIFE. Play at your own risk.
i know i know! the atmosphere sucks you right in!
When i heard Yahtzee ripping on it's brownishness i thought "WHAAT?! i liked the brown swampy feel!"
Well.. I am pretty much an example of that stuff. I've missed all major RPGs, and yet it is my favorite genre. Haven't played FO,FO2,FO3,Morrowind,BG,BG2,NWN,NWN2,ID,ID2,PST and so on...

Man, I have a LOT of RPGs to play.
I found this site one day, bought a few games (I now have 83...)...

NOW I CAN NEVER LEAVE!!!....

(I come to these forums at least 5 times a day, and I always check every Friday for the weekly deal. Dirt cheap games = HEAVEN!!! HAHAHAHAHHAAA!!!)
I found Morrowind so full of unique character that Oblivion felt like a let-down, like it was too generic fantasy. Morrowind was just so ALIVE as a world, so self consistent and I totally lost myself in it. I still haven't finished Oblivion, not because its a bad game, but because it just... isn't Morrowind!

See I fell that way about Morrowind and Fallout Series (yes including 3 and NV) life is moving forward with or without you. ;) and man after morrowind and fallout 3 (200 hours in both) each time I had to take a timeout from RPGs for a while. It was a big drain on me gaming wise

yup, and another thing that made Morrowind much more awesome was the different styles of architecture in the various regions of morrowind. When there finally were towns with castles and medieval looking houses, you knew this was imperial territory.
Ofcourse... it's a stupid point to make, when Cyrodiil is the heart of the empire, but the different regions just made Morrowind much more magical

Floydinizer: oh yeah, The Elder Scrolls: Morrowind and Oblivion were absolutely merciless with their system requirements!
Remember chugging through Morrowind with every setting as low as possible X-(

lord.seo: Ha. Morrowind is one of those games I was talking about as I remember buying it and only barely meeting the minimum requirements making it so I couldn't play it for quite awhile.
Heh, I too have "fond" memories of being frustrated by system requirements. My PC struggled with Morrowind back when it first came out. Fortunately, it coped quite well with Baldur's Gate 2 though, so I never missed out on that classic.
I miss out on the "where was I?" feeling since I'm old enough to remember when the games came out. I was, however, poor enough to not be able to get most of those games at the time so now I have the "I'm SO glad I didn't pay full price for that CRAP!" which is nearly as good
I was definitely late to the party when it came to the D&D infinity engine games. I spent my teenage years loving FO1 and 2 so damn much and never really got a chance to play the others. I completed BG2 for the first time in September of last year I think it was (if not the year before) and then this year in August completed BG1 and then replayed BG2 til I beat both (took me about a month and a half). I've been working through PS:T for the first time (many restarts over the years, this time it actually sticks with me) and am loving it as much if not more than the BG series because the writing is so amazing (I'm a huge Chris Avellone fan anyway, so I never doubted it to begin with). I am also about halfway through IWD\HoW right now.

Morrowind I've been playing for a long time, such a time sink that game. I love everything about it really, so much better than Oblivion in basically every way. <3 So much lore in the books to be found, very interesting characters, no quest compass (and in that the need to actually *explore* to figure out where to go). It just felt like a real adventure to me. House Redoran for life! :P

I missed out on a lot of things when I was a kid/teenager but thankfully GoG is able to reintroduce me to these Great games which have aged very well

Where else can I buy Blood for example? Only on GoG
